Sasha Alexander

Sasha Alexander was born Suzana Drobnjakovic on May 17, 1973 in Los Angeles, California. Sasha began acting when she was in the 7th grade when she was given the lead female role in her school's production of a play called "Baby". She continued to act while in high school and college. She later traveled east to New York to act in summer stock and Shakespeare Festival productions. In one of her roles as Katherine in "The Taming of the Shrew", she did so well that she was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to study with Cicely Berry and the Royal Shakespeare Company in London. Sasha later graduated from the School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California. While there, she also studied directing to improve her skills behind the camera. She also continued to act in appearances in several independent films that were shown at festivals across the country. Besides acting, she has also written several productions such as Lucky 13, a comedy she co-wrote, produced, and acted in along side Harland Williams and Lauren Graham.

Sasha later starred in the tv drama series, Dawson's Creek, in the 2000-2001 season as Gretchen Witter. Then in 2003, she gained her most well known role of Special Agent Caitlin "Kate" Todd on the hit CBS crime drama series, NCIS, where she appeared for two seasons. At the end of season 2, her character was killed off by a terrorist in the season finale cliffhanger. Sasha appeared in the third season two part season premiere of NCIS as her character's ghost. It became apparent to fans that Sasha wanted to pursue other opportunties.

Since her two year run on NCIS, she has been in some movies such as Mission Impossible III, He's Just Not That Into You, The Last Lullaby, and others. She has also since gotten married and had a child. She married film director Edoardo Ponti on August 11, 2007 at the Russian Orthodox Church in Geneva Switzerland. The couple have a daughter together, Lucia Sofia Ponti, who was born May 12, 2006 in Geneva Switzerland.

Sasha Alexander is Sasha's stage name. Sasha has been a nickname she has had since childhood and Alexander is her brother's name. She also speaks Italian and Serbian very well.
