Miniature Dachshunds

Miniature Dachshunds are smaller versions of regular dachshunds. The name is a German name and literally means badger dog. The regular size hunted down and chased badgers while the miniatures hunted and chased rabbits. Both kinds have also often been refered to as weiner dogs. The standard size dachshund generally weighs anywhere from 16-28 pounds and the miniature usually weighs less than 11 pounds.

Dachshunds and Miniature Dachshunds come in different colors. The usual colors one will see of them are red and black/red. They have been klnown to be other colors as well.

Dachshunds and Miniature Dachshunds are a lot of fun and they are very playful little dogs. They have also been known to chase small animals. They are also known to be somewhat stubborn. They're also known to have loud barks which can reak havoc on someone's nerves if they are caught off guard. :) They are also very loyal to their owners and can get very lonesome if left alone for any period of time.
