Judith Light was born February 9, 1949 in Trenton, NJ. She attended Carnegie Mellon University
and she graduated in 1971.
From 1977-1983, she starred on the soap opera One Life To Live as Karen Wolek #3. While she was
on One Life to Live, she won two emmys, two Soapy Awards, and Soap Opera Hall of Fame Award.
Judith is most famously known for he role as Angela Bower on the hit tv show, Who's the Boss?.
That show aired from 1984-1992. In real life, she and Tony Danza maintain a close friendship.
Judith has also had numerous guest starring appearances and she has had a recurrent role as Bureau Chief
and Judge Elizabeth Donnelly on Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. She also starred in the off Broadway
show, "Wit" in 1999 as Vivian Bearing, a woman dying of ovarian cancer. She shaved her head for the part.
For her performance in this show, she received the Helen Hayes Award in Washington DC as well as the Elliot
Norton Award in Boston.
Judith is currently married to her husband, actor Robert Desiderio. The two met while starring on One
Life to Live and were married January 1, 1985. The two have no children and Judith has stated that the
fact that she didn't have any wasn't because she didn't want them. She couldn't have children and have
an acting career.
