I named this fanlisting Totally Tony because not only is his real name Tony, but he known as Tony
Banta in Taxi and then his name was Tony Micelli in Who's the Boss?.
Tony was born Antonio Ladanza and he is originally form Brooklyn. He enterd the New York Golden
in 1975 and at the time his name was changed to Tony Danza. On August 13, 1976 he began a career in boxing
and he was a favorite of many. It was during one of his gym workouts that he was discovered for his famous role of Tony
Banta in Taxi. Still wanting to continue a career in boxing, he scored some knockouts in 1978 and 1979, but he was not able
to get a title shot, he gave up boxing and devoted himself totally to acting.
Tony is also well known for his famous role as Tony Micelli on the hit tv show Who's the Boss?. In the
June 20, 2004 issue of TV Guide, the character of Tony Micelli was ranked #23 in TV Guide's list of the 50 greatest
Dads of All Time. His role of Tony Micelli is my favorite because I can always get a laugh.
Tony was also the voice of baby Mickey Campbell on an early 90s tv show, Baby Talk. He has hosted his own talk show,
The Tony Danza Show, where he recently had a reunion of the Who's the Boss? cast.
Tony and his wife Tracy have three children, one son Marc, and two daughters Katie and Emily. They also have one grandchild by their son
Marc and his wife Julie, a grandson Nicholas David Danza.
