Angie Harmon was born Angela Michelle Harmon on August 10, 1972 in Highland Park, Texas to Daphne Demar and Lawrence Paul "Larry" Harmon. She first appeared as a young model. In 1988, she won a Seventeen magazine modeling contest. At her high school, she was a part of a group called the Highland Belles. Shortly after high school, she won a Spectrum Model Search contest and from there, pursued a successful career in modeling.

She began an acting career in 1995 upon being discovered by a man by the name of David Hasselhoff. She has appeared in shows such as Baywatch Nights, Baywatch, and C-16: FBI. In 1998, she joined the cast of the long-running and well known NBC series, Law & Order, as A.D.A. Abbie Carmichael. During her time on Law & Order, she also had the voice role of Barbara Gordon in the animated show, Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. In 2001, she said goodbye to Law & Order to focus more on her film career as she preferred film over television. She has had roles in movies such as Agent Cody Banks, Video Voyeur: The Susan Wilson Story, Fun with Dick and Jane, and many more.

She currently stars along side actress Sasha Alexander in the new hit series on TNT, Rizzoli & Isles, as Boston Police Detective Jane Rizzoli.

On June 9, 2001, she married a former professional football player by the name of Jason Sehorn. The couple have three daughters: Finley Faith (who was born October 14, 2003), Avery Grace (who was born June 22, 2005), and Emery Hope (who was born December 18, 2008).
